Kris Van Assche PFW MEN's Spring Summer 14
For many years, Kris Van Assche has been creating one of the most popular looks, the combination of sportswear and suits. He is known for his minimal designs and this season he manages to show strong looks combining short-suits, trousers, polo shirts and parkas.
. bold colours . summer colours . monochrome . polka dots patterns . straight lines . backpacks . gym bags . sunglasses . sharp footwear .
We love minimal, and this is the best example of successful minimalism. We believe that Kris Van Assche ss14 collection can be worn by any traditional man outside of the industry. We really enjoyed the show and we are looking forward to his next collection! v&f xx

. AMCK LONDON .

My friend wanted to go for a walk-in and I went with him, I didn't know what agency it was. They asked me if I wanted to take a picture but I said 'no I'm here for my friend' and they were like 'we insist' and I thought why not?! So they took pictures of me, I'm guessing they liked it. I was going home but they called me, asked me to go back and they were like 'we want to sign you'. It was four months ago.

Givenchy

It depends what you do it for. Runway is like a different experience. Editorials are cool, you can chill out, but I prefer runway. My first one was for Unconditional, I was really scared not to fall over! After that I've done for Vivienne Westwood, she is really cool and I enjoyed it.

iPhone, mac-book, money, smile and my mom!

I eat bad food, fast food!

I am quite bubbly, easygoing, good to talk to and cheeky
.Scouted just four months ago and he's already doing so well in the industry.
Was so good talking to him, fun guy! v&f xx

John Varvatos MFW MEN's Fall Winter 13-14
"The world of today is all about contrasts
that come together"
"I created a bridge crossing an ocean and
mixing seemingly opposite universes and different eras: English dandy and New York edge. Rooted in
the character of old world English dandy, the great textures, deep autumnal
colours and elegance are blended with a strong dose of New York edginess to create a sophisticated
contemporary look for today's man.''
'The new tailored silhouette has a subtle
hourglass shape and a stronger shoulder while layers have been stripped back to
let the fabrics, leathers, yarns and new proportions speak for themselves.
Brushed tweeds, artisan finished leathers, hand knit sweaters and washed velvet
shoes blend to create a timeless yet unexpected mix that is a step forward in
the constant evolution of the John Varvatos signature handwriting."

Varvatos –
SOPHISTICATEDLY ROUGH . RICHLY TACTILE QUALITY . PRECISE CUTS . IMMACULATE TAILORING . STRONG SHOULDERS . SLIM FLARED TROUSERS . SOLEMN CAPES ON TOP OF SUITS . LONG COATS . SPORT WASHED LEATHER SLEEVES . TRADITIONAL PATTERNS . TONES OF GREY . DEEP WINES . SHADES OF BLUE . TOUCHES OF BLACK . WOOL . CASHMERE . ALPACA . MOHAIR . LEATHER . AGED GENTLEMAN'S HATS . VELVET LACE-UPS AND
BOOTS . SLIM VELVET SCARVES . SILVER CHAINS
‘A
vision of elegance that is imperfectly perfect and authentic: a forward-looking
mix of tradition and innovation.’
In our opinion, the show was incredibly
interesting because of all the contrasts. Influenced by an old era and today’s
trends John Varvatos created one of the best men’s collections of this season.
It is really hard to manage to combine these two eras in such an amazing way,
but he did it! It gives of a kind of ‘Sherlock Holmes and old England’, don’t
you think? v&f xx
