Issey Miyake PFW MEN's Spring Summer 14

Yusuke Takahashi is the new menswear designer for Issey Miyake. Clearly inspired by some really famous paintings, Yusuke created a very inspiring colourful collection as we see primary colours like blue and red along with black and white, bright pink in a more abstract style and tie dye.

. oversized coats and jackets . shirts . shorts . pulled up socks . sporty shoes .

We love both De Stijl and Abstract Expressionism, how can we not love this collection?! v&f xx

 When did you start modelling and how?

Ten months ago, around March last year, I was scouted on the tube by Patrick, coming home from a reggae dance.

 Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?

Yes, in a shoot is fine, but if I have to talk yeah. You know, when everyone is quiet, everyone is listening to you and you have to talk..!

 Runway or Editorial?

I prefer runway, is more exciting, you go out there and you feel really good. It's weird because I hate being the center of attention and with catwalk you just forget everything. I do like editorials too, especially when you get something edgy.

 Which designer do you want to work with?

Margaret Howell and Ann Demeulemeester

 Five things you can't live without?

Food, oxygen, hair, music, beanie

 Secret talent?

I can wiggle my ears! It's like a face lift

 How were you scouted?

My friend wanted to go for a walk-in and I went with him, I didn't know what agency it was. They asked me if I wanted to take a picture but I said 'no I'm here for my friend' and they were like 'we insist' and I thought why not?! So they took pictures of me, I'm guessing they liked it. I was going home but they called me, asked me to go back and they were like 'we want to sign you'. It was four months ago.

 Favourite designer?

Givenchy 

 Runway or Editorial?

It depends what you do it for. Runway is like a different experience. Editorials are cool, you can chill out, but I prefer runway. My first one was for Unconditional, I was really scared not to fall over! After that I've done for Vivienne Westwood, she is really cool and I enjoyed it.

 5 things you can't live without?

iPhone, mac-book, money, smile and my mom!

 Bad habit?

I eat bad food, fast food!

 Describe yourself in a few words

I am quite bubbly, easygoing, good to talk to and cheeky
